Journeys of Women 2018 exhibit

Still on view until September 10th , two mixed media pieces that were juried into the Journeys of Women 2018 art show at the McKinney Center in Jonesborough, TN. 40% of sales go to transform the lives of low-income women and girls in East Tennessee. “Aussie Opal” and “A Boulder Landscape” both mixed media.

I’ve been working on this piece since November. I finished it about a month ago but because of the recent severe cold snap, I have been unable to finish the frame. Opal Madness Series I #2

The second in this series of opals. 6 layers of oil paint, epoxy resin, hand cut glitter and pearl powder pigment. Really nice iridescence. Love how this piece changes as you view it from different angles.

“Mossy Plume” Newest Mixed Media Work

Lovely Plume Agate found at the Spruce Pine Gem and Mineral Show last summer. The layering turned out especially nice on this one. The colors are calm and muted. “Mossy Plume” 14.5 inches tall by 17.5 inches wide with the frame.
