This has been a fun piece to work on with so much sculpting. I have been experimenting for a while with using epoxy resin as a sculptural element. I pour tinted resin in stages, using a sponge brush to place it only where I want it. After drying over night, I come back with another layer in a different shape and/or color. The other elements to this mixed media piece are oil paint, joint compound, iridescent and metallic pigments, hand cut glitter, crystals and gold leaf. I named it “Aussie Opal” since it was 
inspired by an Australian opal.
